This is a working bank of 100-plus NFL trivia questions with the answer printed directly under each one, so you never have to go looking for a key. It is sorted by difficulty, then by theme, and every answer is checked and correct as of the 2025 NFL season. Copy a section for a trivia night, use it as flashcards, or skip to the games at the bottom if you would rather play than read.
Most “NFL trivia” pages online give you a list of questions and then bury the answers, or hand you 15 and call it a night. The point here is the opposite: a genuine, well-sorted set big enough to run a full quiz, with correct answers you can trust in front of a room. The easy round is stuff any regular viewer gets. The hard round is records and firsts that stump lifelong fans. Pick your level and go.
How to run an NFL trivia night
A good night runs 25 to 40 questions across four or five rounds. Build one easy warm-up round, two medium rounds, one hard round, and a Super Bowl or picture round to finish. Read each question, give teams 20 to 30 seconds, then read the answer aloud before moving on so nobody argues in the dark.
Two rules keep it fair. Shuffle the order every time you host, because regulars memorize sequences fast. And keep your hardest questions for tiebreakers rather than the main rounds, so one obscure record does not decide the whole night. Everything below is grouped so you can grab a ready-made round in seconds. It works just as well as general football trivia or as the NFL slice of a wider sports trivia set.

Frequently asked questions
What are some good NFL trivia questions?+
Good rounds mix gimmes with deep cuts so nobody gets shut out. Reliable starters: which team won the first Super Bowl (Green Bay Packers), how many teams are in the NFL (32), and which quarterback has the most Super Bowl wins (Tom Brady, seven). Save records like the longest field goal for a tiebreaker.
What is the hardest NFL trivia question?+
One of the toughest fair questions is naming the only player to win Super Bowl MVP from the losing team: Cowboys linebacker Chuck Howley, in Super Bowl V after the 1970 season. Others that stump rooms are the single most points scored by one player in a game (Ernie Nevers, 40, in 1929) and who Mr. Irrelevant is (the final pick of the draft).
How many questions should an NFL trivia night have?+
Plan for 25 to 40 questions across four or five rounds of six to eight each, which runs about 60 to 90 minutes with scoring between rounds. Fewer than 20 feels thin; more than 50 drags. Build one easy round, two medium, one hard, and a Super Bowl or picture round as a closer.
Does this work for general football or sports trivia too?+
Yes. The easy and Super Bowl rounds double as general football trivia, and mixing a few in with other leagues makes a broader sports trivia set. If you want a genuinely cross-sport round, our Sports Connections and NFL Connections word games pull players and teams from several sports at once.
How do you keep NFL trivia answers accurate when records change?+
Anchor questions to records that rarely move (Jerry Rice's receiving yards, the 1972 Dolphins' perfect season, Super Bowl results) rather than single-season leaders that flip every year. Where a record can still be broken, such as the longest field goal, phrase the question 'as of the 2025 season' so it stays correct.
Are these NFL trivia questions free to print or reuse for a quiz?+
Yes, use them for a home game night, a bar quiz, a classroom or a tailgate. Copy a whole section, shuffle the order so regulars cannot memorize it, and read the answer aloud after each guess. The difficulty labels make it easy to build a balanced round without reworking anything.
