What is Flawless Six?
Flawless Six is a fast, free NFL roster-building game: spin for an era, draft five skill positions and a head coach across six rounds, and simulate a full season to see how close you get to a perfect record. It's built specifically for the lean, quick-draft side of the "draft an all-time roster and chase an undefeated season" genre — the corner of it best known for games branded around "17-0" — but it's an original, independently built game, not a clone of any of them and not affiliated with any of them.
Why a leaner draft, on top of Flawless Nine
We already built 20-0, a deeper nine-position build spanning both sides of the ball. Flawless Six is a deliberately different product, not a smaller version of the same one: five skill positions, one combined defensive pick, and a head coach — a full run in a couple of minutes instead of a longer session. If you want the fastest possible version of this genre, Six is built for that; if you want the deepest, Nine still is.
The one thing this format is usually missing: a coach that actually matters
Every fast, six-pick roster game we researched treats the head coach pick as a bonus stat boost at best, with no real interaction between the coach and the roster you actually built. Flawless Six's coaches carry real preferred and incompatible player archetypes — hire one whose system fits your roster and you earn a named "Perfect Coach Fit" bonus; hire one that clashes with multiple picks and you get a named "Coach-System Conflict" penalty. The coach pick is scored, not cosmetic.
Why the schedule length actually changes
Most games in this genre — including the fast, six-pick ones — simulate a fixed number of games regardless of which era your roster represents. Flawless Six uses the same era-accurate approach as Flawless Nine: 14 games through the 1970s, 16 from 1978 to 2020, 17 from 2021 onward, matching the real NFL's actual regular-season history.

How is Flawless Six different from Flawless Nine?
Flawless Nine drafts a full nine positions on both sides of the ball for a deeper build. Flawless Six is the lean, fast version — five skill positions plus a head coach, six rounds total, built to compete with quick-draft games in the same genre rather than duplicate our own deeper one.
How many players do you draft?
Six picks total: quarterback, running back, wide receiver, tight end, one combined defensive slot, and a head coach — a faster draft than games that split defense into separate line, linebacker, and secondary rounds.
Is there a salary-cap mode or a difficulty setting?
Yes — Salary Cap mode. Toggle it on the welcome screen before you start drafting and each of your five skill-position picks gets a salary based on its rating; you must build QB, RB, WR, TE, and DEF under a fixed $145M cap, so you can't simply take the best-rated card at every round. Your head coach is always a free pick and never counts against the cap. There's no separate difficulty slider — the cap is the harder challenge, and Classic mode (no budget) is the default.
What does the head coach actually do?
Each of the seven coaches carries real offense and defense bonuses plus a set of preferred and incompatible player archetypes. Pick a coach whose system fits your roster and you get a real chemistry bonus; pick one that clashes and you get a named penalty — the coach layer is scored, not just flavor text.
Does the season length change by era?
Yes. Flawless Six uses the same era-accurate NFL schedule as Flawless Nine — 14 games through the 1970s, 16 from 1978 to 2020, 17 from 2021 onward — rather than a fixed number regardless of era.

There's no archive of past Daily Challenges right now — the leaderboard only shows the current UTC day, and it resets at midnight UTC when a new seed goes live. You can replay today's Daily Challenge as many times as you want; only your latest submission counts on the leaderboard. Outside the daily, hitting "New Run" generates a fresh random seed for unlimited practice, no cap, no account needed.
Who are the seven head coaches, and what are their archetypes and bonuses?
Flawless Six has seven fictional head coaches, one styled after each era from the 1960s through the 2020s — for example Walt Cominsky (1960s) is ground-and-pound with a big defense bonus and favors Workhorse Backs and Run Stoppers, while Priya Osei (2010s) is spread-and-tempo with a big offense bonus and favors a Dual-Threat QB and Slot Specialist. Each carries its own offense/defense rating boost plus a list of preferred and incompatible player archetypes.
What exactly is a "Coach-System Conflict" penalty and a "Perfect Coach Fit" bonus?
Both are concrete scoring effects, not flavor text. Perfect Coach Fit adds +8 to your team score when at least three of your five skill-position picks match your coach's preferred archetypes and none of them are on that coach's incompatible list. Coach-System Conflict subtracts 7 when two or more of your picks hit the incompatible-archetype list instead — so a mismatched coach genuinely costs you, it doesn't just sit there unused.
How many rerolls do I get, and when should I use them?
You get 3 rerolls for the entire draft, shared across all six rounds rather than reset each round, so spend them where they matter most. Save at least one for your quarterback or head-coach round — those two picks drive the most downstream bonuses, like passing chemistry and coach-fit archetypes — and use the rest when a round's three options are all a poor era fit or leave an obvious hole, like a weak defensive slot.
How is the leaderboard score calculated, and has anyone actually gone flawless?
The Daily Challenge leaderboard ranks flawless (0-loss) runs first, then by win percentage, then by total wins, with earliest submission breaking ties — there's no separate numeric score, just your record and grade. Going 6-for-6 flawless is possible but rare, since every skill pick and the coach fit all have to click. For a real-world comparison, the only modern NFL team to finish undefeated and win it all is still the <a href="/1972-dolphins-perfect-season/">1972 Dolphins</a>.
Can I share my roster or result, is there a streak counter, and does my progress carry over?
Yes — after a run, the share button opens your phone's native share sheet, or copies your record, grade, coach, and seed to the clipboard on desktop, so someone else can load the same seed and compare. There's no day-over-day streak counter, but your browser does save a personal best and a running flawless-run count. All of it, including an in-progress draft, lives in that browser's local storage only — no login, and nothing synced across devices.
Is there a mobile app, and what's the best strategy for Flawless Six specifically?
No separate app — it's a free browser game that works in any modern phone browser, nothing to install. Strategically, Six rewards fit over raw ratings: scout the coach pool early and steer your remaining picks toward archetypes that coach prefers, keep your run and pass grades close to dodge the One-Dimensional Offense penalty, and don't punt the defensive slot — a pass-rush-and-coverage rating under 55 on both sides triggers Thin Defense.
