Team totals tell one story, but the most combined points by both teams stands at 75, set in Super Bowl XXIX when the 49ers beat the San Diego Chargers 49-26. Super Bowl LII is close behind at 74, from Philadelphia’s 41-33 win over New England, a game that also produced the record for most points by a losing team (33). Those shootouts are the exception; most Super Bowls stay far tighter.
