Is Big Bash Bigger Than IPL? Comparing the Two T20 Leagues

No. The IPL is bigger than the Big Bash League on every commercial measure that exists — broadcast revenue, franchise valuation, player salaries, and global audience — and the gap runs to roughly an order of magnitude rather than a few percent. The BBL is Australia’s premier domestic T20 competition and a genuinely good one. It is not a rival to the IPL, and it was never built to be.

Talent pool

Bigger salary pools mean the IPL signs almost every elite T20 player during its window.
