Krzyzewski, Williams and Smith form the top three, all tied to the sport’s bluest-blood programs. Active coaches such as Tom Izzo of Michigan State and John Calipari continue to climb the list, but none is close to Coach K’s 101.

While Kentucky leads in wins, UCLA owns the record that many fans value most: 11 national championships, ten of them under John Wooden between 1964 and 1975.
