FedEx Cup Winners: Full List Through 2026
On this page6
Rory McIlroy has won the FedEx Cup a record three times, in 2016, 2019 and 2022. Tiger Woods and Scottie Scheffler are tied for second with two titles each. Scheffler is the latest champion after winning the 2026 TOUR Championship at East Lake.
The table below lists every champion since the PGA Tour introduced the season-long competition in 2007. It also separates the winners record from the format, which has changed several times.

Who has won the most FedEx Cups?
McIlroy leads with three titles, while Woods and Scheffler have two each. They are the only multiple winners through 2026.
| Rank | Player | Titles | Winning years |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Rory McIlroy | 3 | 2016, 2019, 2022 |
| T-2 | Tiger Woods | 2 | 2007, 2009 |
| T-2 | Scottie Scheffler | 2 | 2024, 2026 |
McIlroy’s wins came three years apart each time and crossed two versions of the postseason. Scheffler joined the multiple-winner group by taking two of the three 2026 playoff events, including the TOUR Championship. For their records in the sport’s four biggest championships, see the most major wins in golf.
Who won the 2026 FedEx Cup?
Scottie Scheffler won the 2026 title with a 16-under total of 264 at East Lake. He closed with a 66 and beat Viktor Hovland by three strokes.
The victory was Scheffler’s second FedEx Cup after 2024 and his 22nd PGA Tour title. Because the final 30 started level, his actual four-round score determined both the tournament and the season championship. His $10 million winner’s share counted as official prize money on the PGA Tour career money list.
Has anyone won in consecutive years?
No player won consecutive FedEx Cups during the competition’s first 20 editions. McIlroy won in 2016, 2019 and 2022; Woods won in 2007 and 2009; Scheffler won in 2024 and 2026.
That pattern shows how difficult it is to repeat even for players who remain near the top of the standings. The playoff format can reward a full season, one decisive late run, or both, depending on the rules used in that era.
Could two players win the TOUR Championship and the Cup?
Yes under some earlier formats, but not from 2019 through 2026. In 2009, for example, Phil Mickelson won the TOUR Championship while Tiger Woods won the FedEx Cup on points.
The starting-strokes system used from 2019 through 2024 forced the two titles to share one winner. Starting in 2025, all 30 finalists began at even par, but the lowest 72-hole score still won both the tournament and the Cup. This distinction will matter again in 2028, when the PGA Tour plans to separate its season-long points winner from a match-play TOUR Champion.
How much did the 2026 champion earn?
Scheffler received $10 million from the TOUR Championship’s $40 million purse. The payout was official tournament money rather than the old headline FedEx Cup bonus attached directly to the winner.
The PGA Tour also distributed nearly $100 million in FedEx Cup bonus money after the BMW Championship to the top 125 in the standings. Those payments are separate from the final tournament purse, so they should not be added together and described as one winner’s prize. Frequently asked questions
Who has won the most FedEx Cups?+
Rory McIlroy holds the record with three titles, won in 2016, 2019 and 2022. Tiger Woods won in 2007 and 2009, while Scottie Scheffler won in 2024 and 2026. Woods and Scheffler are tied for second with two titles each.
Who won the FedEx Cup in 2026?+
Scottie Scheffler won the 2026 FedEx Cup by winning the TOUR Championship at East Lake. He finished at 16 under par, three strokes ahead of Viktor Hovland, and received $10 million from the tournament's $40 million purse. It was Scheffler's second Cup after his 2024 victory.
Who won the first FedEx Cup?+
Tiger Woods won the inaugural FedEx Cup in 2007. He added another title in 2009 and remained the competition's only multiple winner until Rory McIlroy won for the second time in 2019. Woods now shares second place on the titles list with Scottie Scheffler.
Has anyone won consecutive FedEx Cups?+
No player won the FedEx Cup in consecutive seasons from its launch in 2007 through 2026. Rory McIlroy's record three titles came in 2016, 2019 and 2022. Tiger Woods and Scottie Scheffler also had at least one season between their two victories.
Can the TOUR Championship winner and FedEx Cup champion be different players?+
Not under the format used from 2019 through 2026. Starting strokes linked the two titles from 2019 to 2024, and the level-start finale used from 2025 made the TOUR Championship winner the Cup champion. Earlier points-based formats could produce different winners, as happened in 2009.
How much did the 2026 FedEx Cup winner earn?+
Scottie Scheffler earned $10 million in official prize money for winning the 2026 TOUR Championship. The final event had a separate $40 million purse. The PGA Tour distributed its nearly $100 million FedEx Cup bonus pool after the BMW Championship based on standings through that event.
