The playmaking centers and one great defenseman

Mark Messier (1,193) and the retired Joe Thornton (1,109) headline a group of elite passing centers, while Ray Bourque (1,169) is the lone defenseman in the top ten, a testament to his role as one of the great puck-movers in NHL history.
