When the top level of the sport adopted overtime for regular-season games, ties vanished. Every game now produces a winner, so a team that avoids losing also avoids drawing. The result is that “undefeated” and “untied” collapsed into the same thing. When you read that Michigan went 15-0, the untied part is baked in.
